Aisha Aminu Gidado
FELLOW

Aisha Aminu Gidado is a food entrepreneur, social media influencer, and advocate for African cuisine, dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through food innovation. With 75,000 followers across platforms, she leverages her digital presence to educate, inspire, and create economic opportunities around African flavors. Beyond sharing recipes,

Aisha is committed to helping people turn food into income. Her detailed profit breakdown of a Suya and Agege Bread Burger recipe inspired multiple followers to launch small businesses, proving that African cuisine can be a vehicle for both cultural celebration and financial independence. She extends this impact through live weekend sessions, where she shares food business strategies, time management techniques, and entrepreneurial resilience tips, equipping aspiring food entrepreneurs with practical knowledge. Her deep commitment to food security and nutrition is evident in her most impactful initiative; developing an affordable, nutrient-rich baby food formula using locally sourced millet, sorghum, and soybeans.

This innovation was born out of her passion for combating childhood malnutrition in vulnerable communities. Aisha’s formula made a life-changing difference for Zainab, a severely underweight baby, whose family could not afford commercial supplements. Within weeks of incorporating the formula into her diet, Zainab’s health dramatically improved, reinforcing Aisha’s belief in the power of locally driven solutions to address pressing nutritional challenges. Aisha is more than a food influencer; she is a changemaker, a bridge between tradition and innovation, and a champion for economic empowerment and food security. Through her work, she is not only redefining the narrative around African cuisine but also creating sustainable pathways for individuals and communities to thrive.
