Aneth Gerana Isaya
FELLOW

Aneth Gerana Isaya is transforming the African food ecosystem by empowering women and girls with disabilities in Tanzania through entrepreneurship and food management. As the founder of Ujasiriamali Hub, she has provided over 5,000 marginalized women with skills training and seed capital, enabling them to start their own businesses in the food sector. Her work fosters economic independence, inclusivity, and sustainable development, strengthening food security and economic resilience within communities.

Through training in food processing, management, and value addition, Aneth equips women with the tools to build thriving food enterprises. One powerful example is Amina, a Deaf woman who, after receiving training in food preservation and processing, successfully launched a small-scale food business. With seed capital support, Amina expanded her venture, now supplying local markets and creating jobs for other women with disabilities.

Aneth’s dedication to inclusive economic empowerment ensures that marginalized groups are not left behind in Africa’s food systems. By combining food management with social empowerment, she is building sustainable, community-driven food systems that reduce economic inequality and create lasting opportunities for disadvantaged groups across Africa.
