FELLOW

Etornam Celestine Tsyawo is a food systems educator, researcher, and digital innovator dedicated to bridging the gap between complex food science and everyday consumer choices. As the founder of FoodPulse, she translates scientific food concepts into practical, evidence-based insights, equipping consumers with the knowledge to make informed, healthier food decisions. Through engaging digital content, pro bono consultations, academic research, and policy advocacy, she is driving a holistic transformation of Africa’s food system.

Etornam Celestine Tsyawo has made a significant impact in the food ecosystem by building a thriving digital platform, successfully pivoting L&J Foods Ltd into FoodPulse, a food education hub that has reached over 260,000 people across four platforms in 2024 alone. She has trained 30 farmers in Jasikan District over three years on sustainable farming practices, equipping them with techniques for improved yields and environmental sustainability.

As an award-winning researcher on food security, her groundbreaking study on pork adulteration earned her the Best Presentation for Food Security at the 2023 KNUST Scientific Conference. Her research contributions extend to nationwide ethnographic studies on consumer food practices, culminating in a policy-focused manuscript currently under expert review. Beyond research, she is a recognized voice in the industry, frequently speaking at food systems conferences and policy dialogues, shaping critical conversations on consumer food education and healthy food environments. Currently, she is pursuing doctoral research on household food environments, ensuring that her work remains rooted in scientific evidence and directly informs policy and consumer education.
