FELLOW

Hadeer Nazmy Hegazy is a food security and nutrition innovation leader, serving as Program Innovation Manager at the Egyptian Food Bank, where she plays a strategic role in advancing inclusive, scalable solutions to reduce food insecurity and malnutrition in Egypt and across the wider African food ecosystem. Her work combines innovation, evidence-based program design, and cross-sector collaboration to improve nutrition outcomes for vulnerable communities.

Hadeer has led and managed high-impact food protection and feeding programmes, ensuring access to nutritious food while significantly reducing food loss and waste. She spearheaded the design and rollout of the General Feeding Program, strengthening household food security nationwide, and initiated the First 1,000 Days Program, a flagship intervention addressing maternal and early childhood nutrition at the most critical stages of human development.

She currently oversees the Nurseries and School Feeding Program, ensuring children receive balanced, nutritious meals that support learning and well-being, and leads the Food Secure Village Project, a holistic, community-driven model tackling poverty, food insecurity, and malnutrition in Egypt’s most underserved rural communities.

Beyond program delivery, Hadeer is a Certified Trainer and Ambassador under the Be an Ambassador initiative, leading workshops on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and partnering with government institutions and civil society organisations to align strategies with sustainability objectives. She has also facilitated high-level discussions at the Civil Society Consultation on Actionable Strategies for Sustainable Agri-food Systems in the Near East and North Africa, contributing to regional dialogue and policy-relevant solutions on food security and sustainable agriculture.

Through her leadership, Hadeer continues to drive innovative, people-centred approaches that strengthen nutrition systems, reduce vulnerability, and build resilient food-secure communities across Africa.
