The Leading African Women in Food Fellowship is an ambitious program aimed at supporting changemakers who are making outstanding contributions/impact in the African food ecosystem. This initiative amplifies, celebrates, champions, and advances the work of these female food changemakers.
Haneefah Adam is a Nigerian self-taught multidisciplinary artist. She is Internationally renowned for her food art and produces works in other mediums, including but not limited to paintings, photography, sculptures, and installations. Her works typically explore issues related to identity, culture, and representation, often mining from her experiences and interactions.
In 2016, Haneefah's extraordinary talent shone through as she emerged as the winner of the prestigious #TechMeetsArt competition, centered around the theme "What's cooking." Her remarkable skills earned her a coveted spot in the Rele Art Gallery & Samsung Electronic West Africa Food art exhibition. In 2018, she held her highly successful solo exhibition titled "Life long percussion" at Angels and Muse in Lagos, captivating audiences with her pieces. Haneefah's artistry has also been featured in prominent group exhibitions and art fairs, including "Her Story" at Rele Art Gallery Lagos (2018), Impart Art Fair Lagos (2019), and "A Changing Landscape the Female" at Van Der Plas Gallery, New York. Her talent and dedication were further recognized through the ANF fellowship in 2022.
Haneefah's artistic brilliance has garnered attention from renowned publications such as CNN's African Voices, BBC, Financial Times, and others. She has collaborated with esteemed brands such as Google, Nestle, PepsiCo, MTN, Dangote Salt, Islamic Relief UK, and the United Nations Refugee Agency Private Partnerships & Philanthropy Service in Africa (UNHCR), showcasing her ability to merge art with influential platforms.
With a Bachelor's degree in Physiology from the University of Ilorin and an MSc in Pharmacology and Drug Discovery from Coventry University, Haneefah possesses an academic foundation that complements her artistic endeavors.
Currently based in Lagos, she continues to create captivating works of art that captivate audiences worldwide, cementing her status as a highly accomplished and sought-after artist in the Nigerian art scene.
