FELLOW

Vera Osei-Bonsu, a passionate "babyfoodpreneur" from Ghana in West Africa, brings over nine years of manufacturing experience to her endeavors. She serves as the CEO and founder of Eat Smart Foods and Start Right Nutrition Limited. Her mission centers around creating nutritious baby food products using local food ingredients, primarily plant-based and naturally fortified, to provide optimal nourishment for children aged 6 months to 5 years. 

As the Nutrition Champion for Ghana under Nutrition Conversations Africa, Vera advocates for improved nutrition practices. In 2018, she authored the groundbreaking infant and toddler recipe book titled "Start Right." This comprehensive guide offers caregivers a step-by-step approach to successful weaning and earned Vera recognition as the most outstanding woman in Food and Nutrition in Ghana by Women in Aviation and Africa Media Galaxy. In 2022, she received the Emerging Star in Agribusiness and International Business award from the Women in Agribusiness Award Scheme under Guzakuza. 

Vera holds a First-Class Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Sociology, and Psychology from the University of Ghana. With an unwavering belief in the abundance of ideas and opportunities in Africa, she envisions transforming these potentialities into tangible solutions that will revolutionize the African continent. Her ultimate dream is to ensure that every mother in Ghana and Africa has access to sustainable and healthy methods of nourishing their children.
